Welcome to Tavleen
In short, Tavleen is an immersive culinary adventure. Tavleen events are hosted in an intimate Silver Lake apartment, featuring a crafted four-course meal that is wholly original — never served before and never served again. The menu, the ambiance, the energy: with its own unique ingredients, every event is singular, convened and curated for one night only. Discovering new flavors, sharing unique perspectives, and forging meaningful connections, guests aren’t just dining, they’re creating a one-of-a-kind evening together.
In addition to in-person gatherings, Tavleen is shared through this newsletter and other social media platforms. Our intention is to create a window into the essence of each event, our reflections on the dishes and any learnings from creating a given menu. The Tavleen Story
Some of my earliest memories are from my grandparents’ candy and spice shop. I’ll never forget smelling the rich, intoxicating blend of cumin, chocolates, and sesame seeds in the air; helping my grandfather roast the walnuts; and occasionally sneaking away to have a chocolate egg with a toy inside.
Back home in Los Angeles, every meal in our large blended family was an event: our family, including my seven siblings and I, created a whirlwind of cooking and serving, of deep conversation and uproarious laughter late into the night. From Friday night dinners, to holidays, to the average Tuesday, our home was a gathering place for family, friends, and community.
As an adult, I have forged my own culinary journey, dedicating years to learning the art of food and drink, honing my own techniques, and experimenting with ingredients and flavors. Every time I craft and perfect a new dish, I feel my world open with possibility, and my greatest joy is inviting others into that world. I have gained so much fulfillment in preparing meals with love, hosting a diverse community, and creating space for others to learn, to indulge, and to revel in wonderful food and wonderful company. That’s what Tavleen is all about, and I hope to welcome you to our table soon.
